British International Helicopters, Penzance

Having reached an agreement in principle with Sainsburyís, British
International Helicopter Services Ltd (BIH) today (16 Jan 2012)
announced it will be continuing its scheduled services for the
summer season from the Penzance heliport until 31 October 2012.
Tony Jones, Managing Director, British International Helicopters,
said: "We are pleased to be able to give existing and new
customers certainty regarding our 2012 flight arrangements and be
able to reassure them that the service will be uninterrupted from
Penzance for another season.

Cornish crisp manufacturer, The Cornish Crisp Company, recently launched a flavour of crisps called 'The Resuscitater' dedicated to Cornwall Air Ambulance. Every bag of the unsalted crisp variety purchased donates a penny directly to the Cornwall air ambulance. The charity is entirely reliant upon public fundraising.

Seasalt will be celebrating their collaboration with John Lewis and the launch of their Spring Summer 2012 collection upon The Golden Hinde in London this coming February.
The Cornish fashion company were moved to create their brand new ‘Artists and Potters’ collection that has been designed exclusively for five John Lewis stores including Oxford Street and online, after finding an old photograph of St. Ives sculptor Barbara Hepworth from the early 1960’s.

RNAS Culdrose, Helston

Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose has today announced that it will not be holding its annual Air Day in 2012. Planned resurfacing works to the Culdrose runway leave the base unable to host large numbers of visiting aircraft during the summer. This factor, combined with Operational commitments across the globe and at home with the 2012 Olympics, means it will not be feasible for the base to man the event. The Air Day Team has however already started to prepare for the next Air Day event, planned for the summer of 2013.

St Ives Feast will take place on Monday February 6th, 2012 starting with the Mayor's civic procession and blessing. The Feast features the boisterous hurling of the silver ball, a thousand year old tradition.
Walk from Padstow to Fowey raises £3,500 for Macmillan
Dorset based Virginia Hayward Ltd, supplier of Christmas hampers and gifts to businesses such as John Lewis, Waitrose, Selfridges and Interflora, have spent a busy year raising money and awareness for the Macmillan Cancer Support charity.
The Company have so far raised £7000 through several events but the team's most ambitious venture saw a group of 10 staff take to the hills for a 28 mile walk from the Atlantic to the English Channel across Cornwall following the Saint's Way from Padstow to Fowey. This raised £3,500 alone.
Director Sam Hayward says, "Almost without exception, we can all point to some personal experience with cancer, whether that's through a friend or relative living with the disease, or even closer to home in some cases, so we all wanted to do our bit to contribute to this enormously valuable charity. To have exceeded our own expectations at the same time was a fantastic result and we're very proud to have been involved in Macmillan's centenary year."
Fowey Christmas Market
The 7th Fowey Christmas Market will be held in Fowey Leisure Centre on 26th and 27th November 2011 from 10am to 4pm.
Stalls selling local and international food, drink and crafts in a wonderful atmosphere of music, mulled wine and other festive goodies including Santa's grotto.
