Glowing Review for The Old Quay House
Earlier in the Spring, The Old Quay House at Fowey received a glowing review in the 'Cool Hotel Guide' column in The Times.
Tom Chesshyre of The Times wrote, A couple of glasses of sauvignon blanc to the good, we enjoyed our dinner in the high-quality back restaurant run by head chef Ben Bass, who has previously worked with Raymond Blanc. It showed. Starters of duck salad with radish, apple and beetroot were the perfect appetiser for a main of superbly fresh pollock (as you might expect), mussels, butternut squash with mint and lovely mashed potato: the best seafood dish I’ve had in ages."

"Fabulous location, lovely food.."
I could have sat on the terrace all afternoon to watch the river World go by. The St Austell Bay mussels, crab and crayfish tian and trio of Cornish lamb were lovely, though in truth, the lamb rack was a little too blue for my taste and I wish I could have asked the chef to show them the grill again without fear of offence! The dessert menu only enticed two out of a party of eight to order. The staff were very attentive and welcoming.
