Cornwall Council wins prestigious RSPCA Gold Footprint Award - 02/11/2011
Cornwall Council has been awarded a Gold Footprint Award by the RSPCA for the high quality way in which the Council’s Dog Welfare & Enforcement team handle stray dogs. The award was presented at the House of Lords by Baroness Fookes.
The RSPCA Gold Footprint Award recognises a range of issues including the treatment and welfare of dogs whilst in the Council’s care, re-homing policies, and proactive action to reduce stray dog numbers whilst providing a cost effective service.
Lance Kennedy, Cornwall Council Portfolio Holder for Public Health and Protection said: “Receiving this award on our first attempt is a testament to the quality of our animal welfare staff. We will as a Council continue to ensure that our advice and enforcement role is carried out to the highest standard”.
