LATEST TESTIMONIAL Until 1990 Geevor was a working tin mine. Here tin was won for centuries in workings which eventually stretched far out beneath the sea. Now Geevor is the largest mining history site in Britain. It is the only place where visitors can follow the story of the mining and processing of tin. The museum has a unique collection of mining artefacts and memorabilia. A video presentation describes the operation of the mine and outlines Geevor's history. A huge 3D model illustrates the extent of the workings and a photo galley gives a rare insight into working life at the mine. Outside follow the trail through the mine buildings. See the mighty machines in the compressor house, and the winder that brought men from more than 500m below the surface.
