New non-emergency number for Devon and Cornwall Police - 20/09/2011
Devon & Cornwall Police have launched a new and shorter number ,'101', for police non-emergency and general enquiries. The caller is automatically put through to their closest local control room. This should be used to report a crime, for information and advice or to contact a member of the local neighbourhood policing team.
This number replaces the old 08452 777444. Not only is the number shorter and more memorable but the cost to call is a flat rate 15p from any land or mobile network regardless of the length of the call. With the old 0845 number charges varied from one network provider and contract to another.
