Truro City of Lights - Wednesday 16 November 2011 - 15/11/2011
Preparations for Truro's City of Lights spectacular are well under way as Cornwalls schools, businesses, community and artistic groups come together to play a role in the magical festival of light.
Thousands of hours of work go into the lantern parade, set to take place on Wednesday 16th November 2011 from 7pm in Truro City Centre. A true community event, the diverse elements of light, music, dance and art will culminate to create a night of thrilling entertainment. To mark the start of Cornwall Wildlife Trust’s 50th anniversary celebrations, The City of Lights has chosen the theme of ‘wildlife’, and its artists are now busy designing and making the amazing withy and tissue lanterns inspired by wildlife from Cornwall to Columbia.
Businesses and organisations who have already lent their support to the City of Lights this year include, Community 1st Cornwall, Carlyon and Son, Creative Edge, One Eyed Cat, St Eval and Skinners.
