'Classic Charlie' at PZ Gallery

An exhibition of limited edition platinum prints entitled 'Classic Charlie' opened at PZ Gallery in Coinagehall Street Penzance on Saturday 22nd August.

Charles Roff's first exhibition of photography was held in 1978 at Newlyn Orion Gallery. Since then he has exhibited his photographs of portraits, landscapes and nudes in the UK, France, USA, Germany and Japan.

His platinum prints are currently in the collection of The Palace of Westminster archive, The City of London Guild Hall, Tom Stoppard, Pattie Boyde, Swedish Publishing House Bonner, National Trust, Cable & Wireless, Margaret Thatcher, J P Getty, Ken Keasy and Brian Pattern.

Platinum images are not only exceptionally beautiful but the materials used are as chemically stable as gold providing good archival quality. Because they are expensive and difficult to produce they are extremely rare.

New logo for community bus association.

The West Penwith Community Bus Association have held a drawing competition involving the local junior and infant schools of Pendeen, St Buryan, St Just, St Levan and Sennen.

Pupils have created designs for incorporation into the new WPCBA stationery. The children’s designs are based around transport, happy passengers, drawings of buses, families, children etc. The winners’ drawings will also be printed onto the WPCBA minibus.

At a recent special association meeting two winning entries were chosen from each school and a £20 voucher 1st prize and £5 voucher 2nd prize was awarded respectively to each winner. The considerable variation in pupil’s ages was taken into account.

When the new logo design has been finalised details of the young winners will be announced in the local press.
